Phill-type-R had a 6 speed conversion done on his V4 type R.

If you have a UK classic, diffs are 3.9. which happens to be the same as all 6 speed boxes 3.9's... P1 and imports are differant...4.1 4.44

There is the import 6 speed and the uk 6 speed. The first four gears are the same 5th and 6th are lower on the import box. I had the uk box as wanted the same top speed gearing as the 5 speed uk cars.

The new 6 speeds have DCCD you will not need this. You will require one without DCCD.

Phill and I had or have STI imports, so rear diff required changing to 3.9

Got my box from scoobyclinic they also fitted it and I had a great deal with them...

The V4's had smaller shafts so as well as the rear diff larger shafts must also be fitted which also means rear hubs and brakes.
The V5's had larger shafts so only the rear diff is required.

Just info I picked up when looking at going 6 speed with the type r V5. I just needed the rear diff. But Phil with his V4 had diff shafts and hubs changed he also had to change the brakes because of this.. which did cost him a fair bit extra..Perhaps his mechanic was just pulling a fast one...
