engine sputters in rain

I have a 2004 TS wagon with about 100000kms. The engine sputters greatly (almost stalls) when it rains. Sometimes the check engine light flashes. When the engine is up to normal operating temperature there is no problem.

Any Ideas?

Type slowly. I'm a total noob.

Hi jv,

Could be moisture on the Coil, Check the plug wires at the coil for cracks or damage and pull the boots off to check the terminals.

i had a similar problem a few years back on my renault 19 16v

it turned out to be one of the spark plug leads..... had a small crack in it, so when it rained the moisture on the lead caused it to short.... thus misfire

it might not be the same problem, but it's worth considering

hope you sort it out m8
