Brakes and Brake pads

After having a very hairy moment on friday night when i needed to stop from 140 (i know not very clever) and to put it basically not stopping, i have decided to get some uprated items and was wonder if anyone has any suggestion for any particular ones to go for.

i was told that as well, so going to stay right away.

I have thought about putting Tarox G88 40 Groove discs and Fast Road Pads on the front and back.

no comparison IMO between the Tarox fast road stuff and something like ds2500 Ferodo.........................the Tarox are way behind............

we can also sort various std or grooved discs (incl. DBA) at far better costs /value than the tarox G88 (which to be fair isn't bad) .................

Got g88`s on mine wouldnt recommend them though not really any better than std subaru stuff theyre ok but just ok, disks are wearing a lot quicker than i thought too had a look the other day and the grooves have virtually gone on the insides, pads are about there too.Wanted brembo`s or AP when these were shot but cash wont run to it, so gonna try some pagids in with these discs till theyre totally knackered.(If im buying discs again theyre gonna be bigger-hence brembo/AP, i aint wasting money on the same size again.)

ebc stuff seem to be very very strange i know people who have had major issues with them (as in the example i put and few others) and yet other people swear by them (as in your case), its realy realy strange.

I've had issues with EBC stuff and I wouldnt choose them again... I used Black Diamond disks and Ferodo pads. They where a lot better.

That said I'm using Brembo's 330mm 4 pots at the front now and 2 pot's at the rears... I wanted an AP setup.. But even with the standard pads and disc's I assume are on there, they do stop very well. I would recommend them, but if you had the money, I'd go AP. They are the daddies of brakes IMHO but they are more expensive to 'run' than the Brembo's.

My agruement is, you get what you pay for

But who knows... I might get one, one day

you've GOT TO be certain to bed them in properly

no "to zero" or extremely hard stops....

they've been just brilliant for me

Ap was what i wanted to fit to the car, but it worked out to expensive as i would have had to get some bigger wheels as well as the brake kit, so just having these as a stop gap while i save up.
