Unhappy Wont start!

On Thrusday Morning when i was on my way to work my WRX was running very lumpy managed to get to work but when i went to start her up at lunch time she would even start.

The engine does tick over over when try to start and you can hear tyhe fuel pump but nothing happens, was advised by a local garage that it might be the coil packs, so have replaced all 4 but still no luck!

This is my first Scooby,so im a bit of a novice.

She is a 1994 WRX import with only 50,000 on the clock and has only just had a service at extreme scoobies!

Any help would be welcomed!

New plugs been installed then?
New fuel filter?

Any engine check light at all?

Could possably be a intermitant crankshaft sensor. May well pay you to remove it and give it a quick clean. If at all possable if you can get a serviceable sensor from someone slave it in and see if the car runs any better.

The above link will show you where all your sensors are. Go to the general technical section and you'll see a page for ECU diagnostics and ECU resets. There are in there.

Cleaned the sensor last night and it started first time, let it warm up to running temp and everything was fine, but when i took it round the block it was running very lump until you got above 2500/3000 revs then it would run fine!?!

im all out of ideas think it might be a trip to a garage to see whats wrong!

cheers for all the help though as it wasnt even running before!

We'll some progress made then.

Nows the time to slave in a sensor that you know works fine and see if your car then runs any better and finally prove that your existing sensor is indeed faulty.
