I have a 95 Impreze 2d auto... basically my tranny was clunking when i got the car and then i let a friend barrow the car and the engine was knocking upon return (some friend huh?!?!?!) Anyways I am a Honda lover and recently found a great love for my impreza.
My question is are there any other subaru's out there that are a direct bolt in swap? would a swap from a forester work? I am hoping to recieve a list of cars/years that will work. There is an auction locally with a 01 forester... will she work? I called around to import shops for swaps but i wanna keep the $$$ on the low end of things if possable to pick up another totalled stoob that would be so awesome. Thanks in advance |

in general most legacy's, forester's and impreza's use the same basic transmission/engine set-up, however there are differences year/year dependant on model...................
you don't mention turbo, N/A??? you would be best looking for the same model on a similiar year for a straightforward job |
