help my gauges

Hi Guys bought a 95 scooby yesturday and i have a problem with my temp gauge and fuel gauge my i put a tenner in the car when i got it and the gauges moved but about 1mm basically hardly didnt move and temp temp gauge moves but then again does really move can some one help please as im driving around not knowing how much fuel i have

aint got a clue mate the fuel gauge is working a bit better but the temp aint moving and when u have a scooby u need a temp gauge

Temp gauge

Have a look at the connection on the engine coolant temperature sensor.

if i was standing in front of the engine were about do i have to look is it near the front on the left or right or near the back left or right like i said new to these cars
