Lightbulb Import delimiter

I'm currently still running my 95 WRX import limited to the 112 mph top speed, I know that there are mechanical Items available to alter the drive from Kmh to Mph, and I know that the limiter signal is produced by a reed switch on the speedometer. I'm currently bored at home due to recovering from a back op to remove a disk, and I'm wondering if I could build an electronic circuit to do the job, due to having a maplins nearby to get cheap electronic components.
Is there anyone with electronic knowledge of the ECU workings out there that could let me know that if I built a circuit that could divide the output of the reed switch by 1.6, wether or not I would need to do anything else to make it work?

I know this sounds a little mad professor ish, but it beats daytime TV!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.........I'm bouncing off walls, and I'm out of optimax!!

Thanks

Stu

p.s. otherwise I'll just go and buy a normal delimiter, oh and obviously would only use it to exceed the speed limit on private roads, wouldn't dream of it on the Queens Highway . And if it was/ is possible the plans could be put on the site for other members reference/ use.

the limeter is a mechanical thing not an electrical so unfortuantly the speedo switch (or mini gearbox) is the only option
