Do I NEED a remap?!

Ok guys, after my full decat do I NEED a remap?
Cant really afford one at the moment. I've reset the ECU, but can I do any engine damage with it in this state?

I know the ideal is to have a remap, but do I NEED one???!!!!

as long as your car is mechanically sound then a de-cat should be no issue........................as to wether there is more to gain from a re-map then normally - yes!!

watch out for any over-boosting, not good in the long term for the cars health

The first mod I usually do is remove cats. I have now done 4 Scoobs and only one overboosted and that was only in winter (MY98). I had one restrictor for summer and a differant one for winter. The turbo will spool up much quicker when catless and sometimes the boost is not held back quick enough. A 3 way solioid will help or differant restrictor. The restrictor is found in the small pipes coming from the soliniod. You can usually feel the restictior in the line. When the car is remapped you will get even more power as boost is then usually lifted to 1.3 bar with fueling and ignition to suit.
