Rear wheel bearing replacement

:?: I have a noise coming from the rear drivers side wheel on my L reg wrx import.
I suspect that it is the wheel bearing.
Are these easy enough to change, or will I need to have the bearing pressed out?
Any help greatly recieved.
Cheers Rapid Rich.

Hi & Welcome Rich

Never removed a bearing mate

Going by this picture I found it looks like you will need a puller bolt.

Welcome to the dot org RR!!!

It's not a big job mate and if you like getting you hands dirty you should be able to do it. It probably is, but are you defo sure it's the bearing gone???

re; wheel bearing

Thanks for the replies.
I think it is the wheel bearing.
There is a loud whiring sound coming from the back.
I suppose it could be the diff, its the first permenant four wheel drive car I have owned so how do I tell the difference.
Cheers Rapid Rich.
