Idle control valve!!??!!

Hi people...

Ive had a few problems with me idle control valve - Fault code 24. So yesterday i decided to take scoobaroo  advice and i stripped the control valve down and it was caked up it crap. After putting everything back together again + resetting the ECU,on start up the engine ticks over at 2000rpm (cold start up) but soon as it warms up it settles down to 1000rpm. Checked the ECU again and it reports no faults.

Is this normal on a classic??? Cos when winter comes i dont like the idea of the engine ticking over at 2000rpm when its cold!!!!

Cheers for any feedback...

See how it is after a couple of cold starts. As you said you cleaned it reset ECU, so it may take a bit of a run to get the ECU working to its optimum..... (settled down)

Should be around 1200 on Cold Start.
