Hiya

I've been toying with the idea of getting one of the above. How hard are they to fit and are the ones on ebay any good?

I have also heard of people cutting down their existing gear stick, is this wise :?

Any advice appreciated

Do not cut your original stick....

I have a "Cartboy" stick on mine and it works great

Have you got a link to one you was thinking of on ebay. I would say as long as it has a brand name that you can identify then should be OK.

Ok I've put my hacksaw away

Hmmm whats a 'cartboy' stick, is it one of those thin sticks? as I like mine quite thick so I can get a good grip

These are the ones on ebay:

How many hours labour do they take to fit?

Hi lou, dont know any of those.
Changed mine on my wrx, you need a pit and a couple of 12mm spanners (rachet type best).
More fiddly than anything else, but what a difference in the throw

I think I will have it fitted by the experts, as the only pit I have is my bed

That is similar to the one I have. You just need to remove centre console around gear stick and unbolt stick pop it out of the bull socket and fit new one, popping it into the bull socket and then bolting it up and replace centre console..... easy peasey
