Has my mate got petrol in his oil? Solutions needed please

Hi everyone, basically my mate had a problem he noticed after fitting a dump valve, the engine had a petrol/oil mix in the engine (Smells like petrol anyway). a couple of the lads suggested a few things and i took the dump valve off for him and gave it an oil change. I haven't seen him in a while and i asked him how the engine was? he said fine. I asked him if he had checked the oil? he replied no not since you changed it !!!! So i checked it sure enough there it was the same problem again! Suprised he's not had any major probs but he said he hadn't used it much since it was done.

Basically what i am asking is any suggestions the engine is standard there is a small split on the airbox side of the recirculation valve. He was thinking of building a more powerful engine but @ the moment hasn't got a great deal of cash.

Thanks guy's

Compression test required: To make sure the engine is healthy.

He dropped the oil on his Impreza to day, it had been leaking in somewhere on the bottom of the engine (gasket) and the engine was vertually full of petrol! :x

Any idea's lads? Sounds to bad to be piston rings
