Suspect head gasket failure

Hello people I have just sorted out my boosting issues on my 95 sti v2 wagon and now have a suspect head gasket failure, last Tuesday I pulled up at work and was greeted with quite a bit of steam for under the bonnet opened it up and the top rad hose was swollen and the pipe that goes on the back of the header tank ( the one that goes to the turbo ) was squirting out, I have had a sniff test done and the dye stayed blue there is no oil in the water so all good there, my issue is that even though I have bleed the system ( this took me quite a few attempts to get right ) so I now have heat in the car and the thermostat is opening but when I take it up the road and give it a bit come back and the hoses start to get very hard and the expansion tank next to the headlight produces bubbles (not a massive amount but just a constant supply of them ) as soon as the temperature gauge starts to move.
So my question is do I just pull out the engine and do the head gakests and get the head skimmed or does this sound like it's something else.
Cheers jody

yes get the pair done, heads skimmed and new gaskets, as its only gas getting in to the water system you should get away without going mad.

at that age crank bearings would be advisable as well.

Re: Suspect head gasket failure

Hi Tidgy it had a full rebuild 3000 miles ago with new ACL race bearings but i used the standard fiber head gasket so its my own fault really. The heads are at the machine shop as we speak but i need some advise on the head gaskets, i am looking at the ones from import car parts ( the 1.6mm uprated metal ones at 117) are they any good ?

I've ordered from them quite alot, they also have an ebay shop which is cheaper than the main website. Had no problems with seller or the parts.
