anything i should be particularly weary about.

Guys, im looking at purchasing my first Impreza, possibly an 01-03 WRX and as im new to Imprezas i was wondering if there is anything in particular i need to be looking out for when buying one. I had a twin turbo legacy which uses the EJ20 engine so im aware of piston slap when cold but is there anything to beware of suspension or mechanically wise besides the usual?
Also do the Imprezas have the 2 black connectors under the steering column for fault diagnosis?
