what brakes

I have a 99 uk turbo with the ppp up grade, I have been told that it has the bug eye front 4 pot brakes on it but the rears are the standard classic. It has the original discs on it (the car has only just covered 65k) now can I up grade the rears to bug eye specs? If so does anyone know how or can direct me to a place that can tell me.
The wheels are the standard 205 50 r16 I have not had them off yet to measure the discs, I'm guessing this information might be needed to answer my question about upgrading the rears.
Thanks for any help.

Re: what brakes

Just been doing some research and the 22b, type r and type ra all had twin pot rears with 290mm vented discs fitted as standard, is there a kit to get these on the back end of my 99 car?

Re: what brakes

iirc,4pots were fitted as standard on MY97 motors onwards....

no need to upgrade rears as they are all the same on the impreza range unless your an STI owner you will have twin pots....all the main braking is done up front, rears do very little, best bet is uprate the discs/pads and brake lines on the front...job done

Re: what brakes

Looking at getting ebc grooved and vented discs front and rear. Scoobyworld.com are doing the discs and pads for 499 and I am thinking of getting the goodridge braided brake lines. Does this sound like a good plan? Any other suggested packages and what brake fluid should I be using? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Me and my mate, I'm a novice but he has rebuilt a couple of golfs, one from the ground up. I have just been to buy some halfords pro tools, great buy 150 piece life time guarantee 50 quid off all for 99.99. Now just have to save up for the brakes will be following the how to guide on the forum though.
