Lambda sensor help

Hi everyone... new to the forum. I drive an N reg WRX. And i have a problem with lambda sensor after changing my downpipe.

I had to change as my old one was blowing... so i bought a known good one and fitted it... The problem is that on my old one there was a thin 2 wire sensor plugged in after the cat down under the car... on the new one there is no where for this... there is a much larger hole up just after the turbo.

So it got another lambda sensor that is the right size for the hole.. but this has 3 wires and a different plug. Does anyone know what the best thing to do is?

Re: Lambda sensor help

you need the standard sensor or you will get the engine check light on, cant you get a adapter or a new boss welded in for the correct sensor?

Re: Lambda sensor help

Thanks bob... Can you confirm if this is actually a lambda sensor? or just a temp sensor or something.... i cant actually check the car till im home.. but looking about the net has told me this one may just be a heat sensor as its after the cat? and my lambda is somewhere on the manifolds? up pipe maybe?

Anyways even when looking to buy a new sensor to weld in.. i can find one with the same plug as the one that came off.
