replacement clutch suggestions?

Afternoon all.

So yesterday my clutch finally started slipping to a point where I need to change it.

I wondered has anyone any suggestions, part numbers, links etc to any renowned clutches?
I've had a look on exedy but its so baffling which one I need when other sites are saying I need others.

The car is an 06 hawkeye, 2.5 wrx, 5 speed, running just under 300bhp and about the same torque.

Any suggestions on anything other than exedy? I've checked out greddy and other manufacturers who don't do clutches so other manufacturers would be a big help.
Or if an exedy is suggested which kit part number? The sites I've been on suggest all different part numbers for the exedy so I've become baffled.
Cost wise scooby clinic seem the best so far.. but I Stil can't figure out which one I need...

Cheers boys

Re: replacement clutch suggestions?

Exedy Pink, API are worth a call and a quick chat,
Lateral Performance was running a offer so may be worth a try also.

Found this

Re: replacement clutch suggestions?

Are they ok for road use? I've never done a clutch change before so haven't a clue.. I don't really want it to become a awkward Juddery mess. My track time is only a handful of times a year

Thanks I'll check the lateral ones out too :-)

Re: replacement clutch suggestions?

I've discovered that my year of car has a 'push' or 'press' clutch... Knowing as much about clutch related bumf as I do quantum physics, I haven't a clue if either of those would be any good?

5 speed push clutch apparently.. and from Scoobyclinics site I think it said not compatible with older type cars. What throws me off is sometimes hawkeye wrx are listed as 05 onwards.. sometimes 06 07

Would a group N be too choppy for the road? I once drove a car with a 'race' clutch on normal road/traffic and it was horrible.

Cheers for helping me out chaps

could try one at the bottom of this list,

Clutch Transmission for your Subaru Impreza

200 or 400 fitted (don't forget the dreaded vat though)

at 300 standard clutch will be fine though, it won't be till you go up the power band you need to go higher spec

Re: replacement clutch suggestions?

Cheers for that tidgy.. I did already spot that one but it didn't say if it was a 5 speed or a 6.

I'm assuming an exedy would be more resilient than a standard subaru one? They're cheaper than subaru!

The only problem is Scooby clinic are bloody miles away from me. I might not make it. Plus the journey cost. I'm in the Loughton chigwell area of Essex.
Used to have mocom racing down the road but that's moved miles too.

Hopefully someone reading can suggest a reputable company or garage that can carry the work out round this area?

Re: replacement clutch suggestions?

Once when I was at tdi in Thurrock someone had come from Holland for the same. Mental.

So the standard exedy, rather than the stage 1 should be fine.... A standard exedy is better than a standard oem exedy then. (And cheaper!)

yeah shoudl be ok, 300 isn't mega power even given the extra torque on a 2.5.
