Replacing UK300 Headlight on Bugeye

Hi all hope someone can help... MY 2001 WRX Bugeye with carbon UK300 headlights

I know this has been covered before somewhere but basically i'm trying to find anywhere that might be able to get me the main beam driver's side headlight which is cracked and over time some water has got in and the metal element inside is starting to rust near where the bulb sits. Car only just got through its mot but it was an advisory to get it replaced.

Now i have tried main dealers especially Sparshatts of Botley who quoted me 150+ for the unit but i said i don't need the unit just the lamp. Is there anyway i can get just the main beam lamp or if i'm really lucky just the lens?. I know from previous threads on here someone got lucky and just got the lamp rather than whole unit and was alot less.

Hope some of you guys can help

Re: Replacing UK300 Headlight on Bugeye

Hi thought i would update you all on this. I finally managed to get hold of the headlight direct from a Hella distributor in Southampton company called Commercial Components, Hedge End, Southampton. After a call to Hella UK and with the part number they reccomended them so gave them a call gave them the part number and i was very happy with the price 34 inc VAT well cheap .

On fitting had a little problem as the the light had four prongs to screw into the base but the one i took out of the unit had three and it had been modifed via one prong/bracket sawn off so had to get a hacksaw to saw the one prong/bracket off the new one. After that all fitted nicely apart from a little mishap wiring up the light up wrong and broke two grille clips (thanks dad) all is well. Just going to take it to MOT centre to get the beam lined up properly.

Highly reccomend this company great service and bloody great price
