Newbie in need of advice

Picked up my 51 bug eye today, only has 1 key as trader got it from a finance company. problem I have is that the key is not a remote fob and central locking doesnt work at all!!!! Is this due to the key? If so how and where can I get a replacement alarm/ fob key? could it just be a blown fuse that is stopping central locking working?? On a side note to this, the dash clock isn't working either!!!

Subaru should be able to sort a key - it's about 190 which is expensive

It's standard alarm/immobiliser keypad. You car has thatcham as standard. You can change setting with it. I have a book in my Subaru wallet explaining it's use.

Re: Newbie in need of advice

My key cost 150 for my bug. Subaru did struggle to program it though as they said that they didnt get many 'older' cars in for keys!!!! It took 3 trips to get it sorted. Bit of advice though, get a key from Subaru. Dont get one through Ebay or the like. The blade is moulded into the fob and even though it might have the same serial number, they might struggle to program it.
