Re: gearbox help

went to the garage today and he wants to get his mechanic to look at it and if he says its noisey then he will pay 250 towards the repair. Or I will have to go to court but then I may have to give the car back.

As long as the fault was not present when you bought it, the trader is responsible for 30 days after the sale BY LAW. Was it bought on finance or credit card (Not debit card)? If so, the finance/credit card company will take it up on your behalf. Again, that is written into law.

He is responsible for the full amount, not just a contribution and if he refuses, but will take the car back, give it him back and get a different one.

as this, unless he can prove it wasn;t damaged when you bought it (no way unless he had stripped the box down and got pictures of the internals being in perfect order) then you can take it back for a refund.

Re: gearbox help

Dont realy want to give the car back as I like it so if I get something its better than nothing and I will take the car off the road and rebuild the box and do a few mods at the same time.

Re: gearbox help

I cant help with where you can get the kit from, but having just done the clutch on my WRX, I thought I would advise to have at least 1 other mate handy to lift the box out cos it is frikkin heavy!!!! It also took me and my helper 1 1/2 days from start to finish!!! I am sure someone on here such as Bugeye Bob will advise you where you can get one from. Good Luck!
