Driveshaft rattling

I have had a rattling (going over bumps/uneven road surface) for ages and it has been driving me crazy. Well, I have finally located the rattling. It is coming from the driveshaft (offside) rattling in the gearbox. There are no other problems apart from the noise. Has anybody ever heard of this? Will a new driveshaft cure the rattling?

Hi monty, it could be the bushes where the drive shaft goes in that are worn (only a guess) as not had to play in there.

Best advice would be take it to your local garage for a checkout.
