Clutch judder

Hi all,im new to the subaru`s in general, owned a couple of evo`s,mrs has an evo 7 lol

I have a 96 wrx and it has some serious judder when setting off in 1st and in reverse. I have a receipt somewhere for an uprated clutch fitted at the beginning of last year. Could this be knackered or could it be any mounts? Was told the judder is a common problem on the impreza`s and its fine if i give it a couple of rpm more.

Any advice would be very much appreciated

This. Mine has always done it in first (not reverse though) as have many others. Mine can be really bad from cold but settles down once I've done a few miles. Nothing to worry about I would say.

Haha,it doesn't slip so guess it cant be that bad. Was told a few hard launches will maybe cure the judder,is this true?

It is a common 'feature' of owning a Scooby. Put the handbrake on and try setting off. If it pulls through the handbrake, the chances are the clutch is fine. A few quick starts/clutch slips tend to clean the surface of the clutch plate, but only do it when the engine is warm.
