New to subarus! help with buying a 06 sti with blown motor. PICS

Hi guys, I am new here. I saw a 06 sti near me on the internet with a blown motor. He says the car its self is in very good condition inside and out. Just the motor is blown. What he "said" happened is he had a lot of work to the motor done and after it was put back together oil leaked from the pan and eventually it ran out of oil? How likely does this sound? He said for sure the bottom end is messed and it needs to be rehonned, he doesn't think anything else broke because a lot of the motor internals were upgraded. He claims there is 6k worth of work done to the motor. For the external of the car he said it has a greddy exhaust, some sort of suspension(keen? sounded like that)

Here is part of the ad

got a all black 06 sti in close to perfect condition.
Black bbs pirelli tires
greedy exhaust
flat screen head unit
slammin sub
upgradedd turbo
hks front mount hids tinted out and all kinds of stuff.
I blew the motor it had all kinds of stuff done to it, too much to list hut have receipts for all of it. 6 thousandd worth of motor work.

I asked him for pics of the reciepts and I will get back here to you guys so I can tell you what exactly has been done to the car. But how much do you guys think it would cost for someone to rebuild the engine given what he told me? Should I stay away? Any other tips or hints let me know
Thanks!

It is quite possible that you will need to spend a couple of grand putting a new engine in as you cant tell what damage has been done to the old one without opening it up. If you get the car for a good price, thats great, but why hasnt he just replaced or repaired the engine if he is into his cars that much??!!!
