Easy to find! Look at your airfilter box, there should be a tube coming of this with a wire/connector on it. Thats your maf!

HI mate

So you unplugged the MAF sensor ?? If the engine keeps on running (aslong as the car is up to normal operating temperature) then yes the MAF does sounds like its faulty. The ECU check engine light will come on due to the sensor being unplugged.

Its difficult to know what the problem might be but having read you pm's I would suggest driving it to a dealer and see what they have to say.

It might be worth a compression test but I'm sure a dealer would be able to tell you what the problem is :?:

I had same prob with mine, plus the car was jumping alittle when over 3-5000 rpm,
my maf sensor was faulty,
but it did not show up as a fault,
took the plunge and a new maf sensor worked perfect,
you also need to do the ecu reset, as with the engine running on a faulty maf it not being doing to well on the old juice.

got my maf sensor from forrester subaru, you will prob find him in the for sale section somewhere

maf

hi guys i have taken it to a japanese place and they diagnosed it as turbo seal gone hence the reson for missfire and steam what is happening is the turbo is pushing oil back in to engine and on to spark plugs causing all sorts thank fu** for that , so many mechanics told me it is the pistons just goes to show take it to people who make the thing in the first place and it saves all the heartache and sleepless nights
and for that goblin it popped out today at 125mph ouch must of hurt little bast***
thanks to all who tried helping atleast we have learnt something
regards afi

Glad your probs sorted...

If your car is not very good on petrol is it naturally the MAF sensor or can it be other things? Any other sensors that cause bad fueling? Cam sensors etc

As my car is REALLY bad on fuel consumtion... i'm lucky to get 170m from 30, and its not a Turbo......
