Maybe dot 4 was not out when they made up their spec?

I put dot 4.1 or something like that in mine, well the latest spec

Thanks for your post MY01 has dot3 moulded on the Brake res' cap Strange :?

Well Dot 4 its getting From what I have read dot 4 is beter than dot 3. Dot 5 is synthetic.
With dot 3 n 4 they absorb water.
Because dot 5 is synthetic any water in the system ends up a the caliper end rather than in the res'

Costing $$$$ for new calipers or cylinders.

Still not sure why Subaru say dot3

I used dot 4 on Sunday and its fully synthetic :?
I bought a one man bleed kit for a 5. What a good buy
Still taking it easy for the first 200 miles with the RED Stuff as recomended.
Wow they are much better.
I took the option of turning the lip off the dics. No more that 0.5mm. Shot blasted the rust off the inner disc and sprayed then black. Now better than New
