Hi mate

There are quite a few out there. I have to admit that I only ever used OB on my WRX - never used it on my UK Prodrive edition.

Anyway the ones to look out for are - Millers, Silkolene Pro Boost and NF Formula. I have used all 3 and didn't really feel any difference between any of them. This having been said the NF and Millers are one bottle shot whereas the ProBoost comes in a container so you will need to pour off a measure of it.....I used a disused small water bottle.

There are quite a few places that sell OB and the more you buy the cheaper it generally works out to be. Just one word of caution. If you are buying OB and you still have a Catalytic Convertor(s) in place then make sure the OB you buy is safe to use with Cats. I do know that Millers sell one that is safe and one thats not.

I hope this helps ?

Which Octane Booster ?

Nelson, Thanks a lot for that info, once again very helpful advice. No cat on my system so i haven,t gotta worry about that !! Incidentally you say that you can tell no difference between the different Octane Boosters that you,ve tried, do you notice much difference in the overall running of your WRX with the Booster added ?

To be completely honest not really. When i had the WRX I did find that Booster plus Optimax = poor performance However OB + Sainsburys SUL = Good performance ?? Bizarre I know.

To be fair I wasn't running Knocklinks or whatever so I don't know what was going on with det etc but with SUL + OB the car did pull very well and had a smooth power delivery. I just kept throwing the OB in as I was very aware that it was a JDM expecting 100 RON fuel  Something else I seem to recall reading was that OB apparently counteracted a number of the additives in Optimax and did in fact reduce the RON rating of Opti ?? As I say I did read this somewhere so please do not take this as gospel - I only judged the OB with different fuels by the way the car felt etc.

Sorry for the ramblings again ops:

Not used the one shot myself.

But i have used,
Nitrous Formula (black race formula) recomends a dosage of 1ml per ltr of fuel thats 50 ml per tank on a classic. (dont know new age tank capacity)
Quite expensive to buy at about 14 but seeing as you can get about 6 tank fulls out of a bottle you save in the long run. Been running NF since Christmas last and had no problem very little activity on the KL to speak of.
