Decks

I read somewhere that Subaru made an open deck, closed deck and semi opened deck? Closed deck being the strongest engine? Is that right?

What is the difference and how do you tell them apart? Thanks

Re: Decks

yep wrx is open deck.

basic guidelines,

97 onwards 2.0's are all open deck
2.2 is a closed deck (from 22b)
early 2.0 could be either
2.5's are semi closed deck

there are some odd balls to watch out for such as special edition catrs, but thats a good general guide

Re: Decks

I made a list of all the models that had the CDB and corresponding engine numbers. I'll see if I can dig it up, but as above they were all early JDM classics.
