Cheapest

What would be cheapest be to insure? I'm 19 and I am willing to pay quite a lot for insurance. I've heard UK made Impreza's are cheaper than the Jap Import, also estates are cheaper to insure? Anyone able to shed some light? Thanks

Re: Cheapest

Uk turbo is def cheaper than jap. Not so sure it matters if it's saloon or estate. I'd say you will pay a huge premium at your age and that's assuming you even get them to quote. Good luck

Re: Cheapest

As above Mate, I doubt you'll get any quotes but expect 4k + as a minimum on any turbo model

Re: Cheapest

Could always start with a non-turbo model and build your way up I've seen some very nice looking GX's and GL's about. It's not all about power. Insurance company's are going to hammer you at 19

Re: Cheapest

I was also told by one insurance company that the estate was more to insure than the saloon, when i asked, they could not give me a reason why tho...But at your age i think you'll defo be hammered with either of the two...If you really want a turbo'd subaru, the legacy is cheaper to insure.

Re: Cheapest

Well I've just spoken to a friend who has a Merc Kompressor. That is insurance 17 (or 36) and he's paying around 3000 a year at 20. A WRX is group 18 (37) so hopefully it'll be around 4000 which I can afford. Around 80 a week I can quite easily afford working a 5 day week..
