Oddly enough, cheapest for me by some margin was Admiral. Tried all the so called 'specialist' insurers (excluding Keith Michaels obviously) and they all quoted way more than Admiral.

kwik fit one of my friends is with them and he is still trying to sort out a claim from 4 years ago, every time he speaks to them its the same story "we havent looked at it yet its in the queue" it was the other driver that was at fault.

I hope you never end up in a road incident.

Re: Insurance

it all depends on age and location. i tried loads and the cheapest for me was the insurance factory. i'm just 29, been driving 9 years, no claims etc, but only got proof of 2 years no claims due to swapping cars and insurance companies so often. i live in south devon and still pay 850 fully comp on my92 wrx!!

Re: Insurance

Im currently with The AA paying 913 for the year (85.70 per month), its due for renewal early February they quoted the renewal at just under 1800 for the next 12 months and I have 5 years no claims.

Greenlight quoted me 678.02 with 5 years protected no claims, car parked on the street. I then asked for monthly payments which then came to 25 admin fee, 239 deposit and 9 months at 58, weird thing is their website quoted over a grand but they sent me an email with a new quote so I rang them to double check the new quote and it is correct.

Sky Insurance wont cover me at all unless the car is on the drive, but they said they couldnt match greenlight's price even if the car was on the drive and wouldnt even give me a price, they said take greenlight's offer.

Another insurance company (cant remember the name something like lifesure) quoted me 1800 ish, I asked whats with the silly prices with all the insurance companies the guy stated its because of all the imports that were written off in the adverse weather conditions last year that they have made a loss, not only that but the cost is being spread across home insurance.

I think its because when an old car has been damaged in a crash no matter how small the damage is most the insurance companies will call it a write off to try and get sales of new cars to increase.

Re: Insurance

a very decent and hard to beat quote from Greenlight Car Insurance but alot also depends on the customers geographical location, its not just a question of accumulating loads of protected bonuses.

Re: Insurance

Think of the mods you could do if the insurance was cheaper.

I have used Gary at Keith Michaels for a few years now with all mods declared. I dont seem to have to much of a problem contacting him.

Have you thought about a pm to him on Scoobynet?

Re: Insurance

i tried "go compare" for a quote of what im going to have done to my car , it came to 9000+ only one would quote me! so i did another quote with just a carbon fibre boot and guess what... fcuking strange company, got a "normal" quote for about 700, so basically dont compare!

Re: Insurance

I'm 26 with 4 years no claims and have been driving for 8 years. I started with Elephant with my 54 wrx but after 3 years the renewal came in at 175 a month which was not much less than the year before so changed to Adrian Flux and got it down to 133 a month with parking on a street. I tried Keith Michaels but he wouldn't touch my car unless it was stored in a garage Keeping my fingers crossed for the next renewal as I'm looking at upgrading to an STI.
