2008 RX - Modify

Hi All,

Just wondered if it's possible to get some of the styling of a WRX on a RX? Eg replace bonnet etc?

If so would the parts be easily sourced?

Thanks

Thats the fun bit mate. Look around the net, scrap yards, online breakers, Grade A Subaru and other companies. Also good to look through the Pistonheads classified section. Buy yourself a copy of Total Impreza too, a good read.
Have you considered carbon fibre panels ?

I will take a look.

Basically I nearly bought a WRX a while back and it fell through. I'm trying to compare the savings if I got an RX and made it look the part. Now the same I know!

Just be careful you don't end up paying more in insurance for a modified RX than you would buying a WRX or STI. Worth a call to check it out.
My advice would be to buy the car you want rather than spend a fortune making another model look like the car you want.

I completely agree - I'm sure I once saw an RX with WRX styling being sold brand new - in other words from the factory.

ha ha! well to be honest - I'm happy with a WRX, but the newer hatchback.

Its the running costs tht are the issue - 1200 insurance, 425 tax + fuel! Ouch!

look at the savings buying an older car/model,i,ll offset the costs, cheaper tax too. plenty of good low milage wrx/sti,s out there owned by enthusiasts... go on..you know it makes sense

yeah - unfortunately I have to also please the OH who only likes the hatchback and have never go on well with older cars! It's also much more suited to our circumstances!

ha ha - well we both compromised. I talked her into a an impreza (or similar) but she doesn't like the older shape. Fair enough I say. I prefer the new one anyway

Re: 2008 RX - Modify

Plenty of models out there, my OH didn't like the Scoob until I got her behind the wheel of an 03WRX with PPP
A month later she bought an 03 STI !
