frozen brakes

has any1 had any problems with their handbrake freezing on since this really cold weather? ive never had this before but friday morning the handbrake was frozen on ive just left it in gear since. Not sure if its just because its been so cold or there is something wrong? any help much apreciated

the handbrake is cable driven, so nothign to freeze. maybe ice build up in the mechanism or somethign else though. best bet get it looked at to see where its sticking

Seems to be the norm to be honest, in north cork here it was minus 15 one night last week and buddys brake shoes stuck aswell, how did you release them hot water? or hammer might be worth a fast look but better to leave it off till the really bad temps goes away

had to just go forward and back a few times till they unstuck ive never had it before but then i cant remember it ever being this cold before! im going to get the brakes checked out anyway as i havnt been 100% happy with them since i got the car a couple of months ago even though it had 12 months mot and nothing mentioned about the brakes just never stopped aswell as i thought it should

Always happens to mine on cold nights. I keep mine on the driveway and haven't used the handbrake for about 2 years. Always use chocks.
