Just a few bits to pick your brains about

bit of background...
I have had a turbo before.. all be it a escort rst but hey lol but never had anything jap and the wagon im look at is 5 mins down the road from me.. heres a bit of the spec..
1993
74k miles
Belts and water pump done 5k ago
turbo is running at 9psi... is that about right or is he gonna shorten the life of the turbo?
adj boost controller
powerflow ss... I'm assuming you can totally ss the system from the manis back with no cat because of the age.. that right?
now heres the bad bits...
sumps leaking from the gasket.. and I cant seem to find one online, is it a gasket or a sealant?
Drop link(s) are shot.. hard to do? dont look to expensive.
spring on selector is worn so gear linkedge is sloppy.. what am i looking at to fix it?
powersteering pump has a soft whine... so im thinking its on its way out, but again there not to expensive.
He wants 1000 for it... sound about right??
Sorry for all the questions guys i dont mind a little work but dont wanna get mugged off.. i have your check list link.

not worth it imo, too much unknown in what is actualy worng with it. the cost of the repairs will prob be pretty high, i'd guess into low 4 figures by the time you get it looked at properly.

personally i'd bin the MBC,not even worth the materials it's made from...

9psi is low pressure equating to approx .620bar,average running pressure is iro .8/.9 bar..

can be decatted but WON'T pass MOT unless you know the tester well

sump gasket can be obtained example here :- RCM GRP-N Cork Sump Gasket (RCM306) Flat4online Flat 4 Online Flat4 Online Flat Four Online Flatfouronline Flat4online.com Flat4online.co.uk Subaru Parts probably best going to RCM and not F4 online..

droppers are pretty straight forward to sort..

if the spring on selector is worn, thats a simple spring replacement job..

powersteering pump best obtained from here :- Untitled

grand for a slightly worn and in need of slight tlc impreza would be worth getting in my mind

As Darren says above.
You seem to know your stuff mate and you have spotted a list of faults.
If you're happy to do the jobs yourself and you can get it at a right price it could be ok.

Hi mate i have a 93 so if you decide to have it then i have bits!as for the gear selector sloppy i wouldnt believe its just a spring on that one...it maybe bit deeper than that but still repairable!
as above youl need the cat for mot,and again as above that 9psi is low and they average .8-.9bar,drop links straight forward enough!power steering pump i also have but for the age i wouldnt worry to much about the pump noise unless its leaking bad or not right in any other way mate

The gear selector has a spring either side, it's about 1.50 from the main stealers, but agree it could also be the bushes. Theres another thread here in the last couple of days where someone has just done this job.
