hey guys a noobie looking for a bit of help

alright guys, I am unfortunately not an owner... yet! but i am going to look at getting one at the end of the year. Big problem for me is, im 21 and insurance companies are just laughing at me for any of them with a turbo or so it seems.

So my plan is;

a 2005 or 2006 impreza 2.0r
fit a sti bodykit or variation if possible to it, or is it really just sti's and wrx the kits are made for?
Big bonnet scoop so basically fit one from an sti if possible?
also rear wing
and wheels from an sti

Are all these things do-able for a general 2.0r?
Im not too botherred about performance i just love the style and look of the scooby and the rally associatioin.

cheers for the help guys if you could answer them.

Plenty of look a likes for sale if that's what you're goin for. Personally would look for one already done up and save time and money

Re: hey guys a noobie looking for a bit of help

yeh been taking a look at a few but theres certain kits that say they fit a wrx model or an sti model.

So i have the question, do the bumpers have the same dimensions and mounting points for changing them over.

like for instance would a wrx bumper fit a 2.0gx or 2.0r?

i presume rear spoilers and that stuff would fit no problem but its the bumpers and skirts im questioning.

cheers again fowks

Just an idea but by the time you have turned a 2.0gx into a wrx or sti replica you will have probably have spent enough to have bought a real one in the first place. I'd leave it standard and build up a couple of years no-claims, sell it (standard car will sell easier) then take the jump and get a turbo and go mad with the mods but beware it's a bug that never stops

The actual shells are the same, some bits wont fit from a STI but thats thing like drive shafts etc, the bodywork can be interchanged between the models, so a front or rear bumper from the same year/shape car will fit, a rear bumper from a estate/wagon wouldnt fit a saloon though.
