Has anybody been to Dastek, Dalgety bay?

I recently went to this place, as on another thread bugeye bob has mentioned to another member its worthwhile going on rolling road to diagnose problems, so I travelled 50miles, only to be told

"You cant diagnose anything, its to measure power only"

needless to say i didnt give them any cash and left, not before speaking to a guy that had given them his car, but not happy with their work.

Can members reccommend any one else in the glasgow area?

And what exactly can a rolling road show apart from power?

Thanks

The graphs that the dyno produces can be interpretted and issues diagnosed but it needs someone to read the data and monitor what is going on while it is doing it.

I am up in glasgow in a couple of weeks and could look at your car for you - what year/.model and what issues do you think you have?

Hi,

No haven't been there. I have been using a guy who is a scooby fanatic, drives a classic. His name is Eddie his garage is: Morrin Motor Engineers, 81Morrin St, Glasgow, Lanarkshire G21 1AW Tel: 0141 558 4433

I dont know if he has a rolling road but if you can't wait on Dynamix's kracken offer i would give him a call but again he will need to know what issues your having?

Depends on distance for you as well i s'pose.

Hope you get it sorted anyway.

sounds like whoever you took it too doesn't have a clue. operators can normaly tell you what the problem is simply by looking at the results, sometimes even while there doing the run.

Hi dynamix, I would be extremely grateful if you could have a quick look, there are a few issues with the car, but the main one is lumpiness at low revs, its slow to build up revs, there is no fault codes showing, the car is a my00 classic turbo 2000.

Aslo I have been offered a secondhand Ecutek ecu for 190, is this a good deal?

Thanks

Re: Has anybody been to Dastek, Dalgety bay?

prices can vary on the license bud, best to check with the one offered to you and see if it has been mapped etc,but it will obvoiusly need mapping to what is on your car
