Classic shape WRX's are imports

UK were known as 2000 Turbo or you had UK specials Series McRae, Catalunya, Terzo, WR Sport, RB5 & P1

As pilfered from last months Jap performance Cars Impreza pullout

UK SPEC TURBO (1994-96)

211ps @ 6000rpm
137mph
0-60 in 5.8 secs

JAP WRX (IMPORT) (1992-1996)

260ps @ 6500rpm
140mph
0-60 in 4.9 secs

JAP WRX STi Version 1 &2 (1994-1996)275ps @ 6500rpm
145mph
0-60 4.7 secs

There loads of variations and special editions as well which will have differance performance. I think in general the imports come better specced (on the older ones anyway)

Hope my plagarisation (sp??) helps!!!
