Had to walk away from the P1 today

Hardest thing I've done and I walked away from the P1 today....A few issues. Needs 2 front tyres. The front n/s has scrubbed badly on the outside....no big deal there. 4 new tyres and a 4 wheel allignment should put that right. Rear discs just look tatty as they were rusty and don't do the car justice. All 4 wheels need refurbished..Not kerb scuffs but just faded etc...

BUT the big one for me was that the car was missing and hesitating when driving. Ticks over ok....Now I don't know enough about Impreza's for that to be normal....If it were my Audi doing that then it would be straight in at the garage....

Any ideas??????????????????

Not so long ago I would of bought it with going by my heart....but this time I used my head for the first time and walked away...

That's bad news mate but you have done the right thing, no point buying a lemon. There is a lot out there still so I'm sure you'll find one that hits the spot.
Keep posting so we can see what you're up to

Thats a bit of a result ! If the garage is going to sort it then it should be under a guarantee too. Are you going to test drive it again ?

Once the work has been done then I will go and view again. No money or deposit has been exchanged yet. Also i'll need to see the paperwork on what work was carried out.

The engine bay was stinking dirty BUT with a lot of time and effort i can have that looking like it should. But let's see how the car runs after it's service and misfire sorted.

Agree 100% with that. With their reputation for going pop you will be asking for trouble.

Why not consider an STi Type R or Type RA? If you get a V5 or 6 you'll have a better car without having to pay the premium for a P1. If you are lucky enough to find a Ltd then It'll be the same colour as a P1 too.

Here are a couple of pics of my V5 STi Type RA Ltd to whet your appetite;

Re: Had to walk away from the P1 today

If its going to be used as a daily driver I agree but the limited edition of the P1 would appeal for the long term, the thought of replacing the Alcon pads etc on a daily driver isnt a nice thought but people do it.
