Big mistake or not????

Im curently installing silicone hosing throughout my engine bay. And ive changed the fuel hoses from standard black hosing to silicone hosing. Im not finding that 2 of my hoses (into filter and out of filter hoses) are expanding to a huge size as if theres a blockage? The hoses are 8mm hoses with pretty thick walls but the pressure must be immense. Was it a bad idea to change the fuel hoses? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Gareth

Re: Big mistake or not????

Put your standard hoses back on, then get the colour you want in silicone and use that to dress it(cut a slot and use a small amount of super glue to seal after you have put it over the standard hose)

Re: Big mistake or not????

ok first of all dude no quicky remove standard silicon hoses petrol degrade them and the pressure involved they will burst leaving your car and maybe you in a ball of flames
You need to but FLUROLINED silicon hoses these comprise of a flurolined rubber hose cover with four layers of reenforced hose
i bought mine from autoperformance online on ebay heres the link

8mm 5/16" Silicone Fuel & Oil Hose Flouro 1 Metre Blue on eBay (end time 15-May-10 19:48:17 BST)

i have these fitted they hold the pressure extreamly well no bulges etc
