2011 WRX & STI
Whilst having a gander on the US subaru site the latest additions to the market popped up. The STI hatch looks very much the same, there is also a special edition WRX with 265 PS which sounds good! Lastly a STI sedan I'm guessing for the american market only?? Certainly not a looker thats for sure imo!? The arse looks a bit chevi like!? Well thought I'd post this link up if anyone hasn't already seen...

Re: 2011 WRX & STI
Is the Saloon JDM only or US? It looks very like the evo on the side view

Re: 2011 WRX & STI
I was going to do a thread about this myself, then I saw this and thought "I'd needn't bother". I went to the US auto show page and they were in there sparkling away. As far as I understood the new shape saloon will only be an option on the turbo charged cars. WRX and WRX STI, this is so the range topping models can be differentiated from there lesser, normally aspirated siblings. They will also be available in hatch form as well, and on the US show site they were referenced as being wagons! Apparently power will be 301hp from the same 2.5L turbo flat4 that's been in all the European and US hot Imprezas over the last couple of years. The saloon will be quicker than the old model and hatch due to aero dynamic enhancements and a more aggressive wider track?!.
That's what I've read anyway! So don't quote me on everything being gospel because I'm sure I've missed bits, or bits will change. I think it looks great though, I missed the saloon when they brought out the new look. And the focus Esque shape never did it for me, that's not to say they weren't brilliant, as I believe it was the best selling Impreza so far. That's just my opinion. And I think this new shape will be global and not just for certain markets. Which is nice. It will be interesting to see which shape people choose for there STI and WRX when everything is done and dusted and is show room ready etc. Bring on the nostalgia! http://www.autoshowny.com/images/gal...-sti-sedan.jpg http://www.autoshowny.com/images/gal...-sti-wagon.jpg http://www.autoshowny.com/images/gal.../wrx-sedan.jpg http://www.autoshowny.com/images/gal.../wrx-wagon.jpg ![]() Last edited by millar; 13 Apr 2010 at 04:38 PM. |
