Where has all the octane gone ?

Hi guys,

I've been having a bit of a problem finding petrol lately.
For the past two weeks or so, every shell garage I've been to is sold out of V-Power.
Eventually I was caught short and had to put in standard fuel! I've been running my car extremely carefully and off boost since, but I'm still unable to find any high octane fuel.

Today, I went a drive round a few other petrol stations.
Tesco: Every single pump had a sorry, not available sign on it.
Shell: Tried 3 garages and all have no v-power
BP: Only have diesel ultimate, no ultimate petrol.

I assume it's not just me having problems locating a source - what's everyone else using ?

I'm now totally out of fuel, and will be taking the train to work tomorrow.

thanks,
David

Re: Where has all the octane gone ?

I've had exactly the same round where I live too for a couple of weeks (think I mentioned it in a previous post somewhere). Had to run it on normal shell unleaded and same as you - was very steady with it. Again Tesco didn't have any either.

Don't know what's going on.

Was the story of my life till I got it mapped for our normal 95 unleaded by Bob Rawle and dont have to be worrying any more about mixing it with octane booster and he does a great job got it mapped through sti tuning Dublin

Re: Where has all the octane gone ?

tesco are back in stock of tesco99 so panic over.

still annoying as the tesco station is further away than my local shell (who are still out of stock of v-power).
