Want a wagon.. advice?

alright guys, currently driving an astra 2.2 only 20 but really keen to get a impreza wagon. always been a vauxhall head but time for a change.

Ideally would like the impreza thats the facelift model of the 1st one
year from 98 to 2001 that right?
and of course the 2000 4wd turbo but an estate/wagon

but got no idea what kind of price range one goes for and if anyone has any wagons on here what they are like compared to the saloons. Not tempted by a saloon as need an estate but just would like some advice

trying to get one with under 60k on clock

Cheers in advance

Re: Want a wagon.. advice?

Hi mate.

Used to have a WRX wagon and really, really liked it. Very nearly bought a V6 STi Ltd wagon to replace it which was an absolutely awesome car; all the performance of the saloon and room for the dog too. Difficult for me to compare the 2 as my wagon had uprated suspension (tein) whereas my STi is on the standard set up, but the wagons are a fantastic all rounder as you can shift a sofa on tuesday and head up into the mountains on wednesday and have a blast. I don't think you will be losing much (if anything) in terms of overall performance in getting a wagon, though performance will ultimately depend on the model you go for. The also look lowered.

Here are a couple of my old wagon;

best advice is to make sure you can get insurance first, even if you can your gonna be paying through your nose for it

Yes, very rare in the UK indeed. Only 500 were made and only for the Japanese market. You'd have to pay quite a stiff premium for one I would imagine, even if you could find one.

heres some pics of one I looked at;

Re: Want a wagon.. advice?

don't wanna seems like im putting you off, but i'd take a guess at around 2000-3000 to insure that at your age. just make sure your prepared for that.

Re: Want a wagon.. advice?

the usual ones are keith micheals and a plan, but i don;t think they will insure under 25's. might be worth a ring on the off chance though

As Tidgy says, be very surprised if that is right. Best quote I've got for my '99 STi Type RA with 3 years no claims, garaged in a reasonably safe area is 685 quid fully comp and I'm 34.
