i was with tescos until very recently.

I have heard some bad things and triciauk300 is having major problems with them at the moment, they are saying her car is modified, and wouldnt beleive even what was faxed to them- the sales brochure saying 18" wheels and different head light units.

So it was time for a change, phoned around and drew a few blanks.

Then tried subaru insured, first tried these when I got my wrx, but were expensive.
Tried them the other day and even with the change of car and my mods they were the same as what I was paying tescos!

give them a try on 0870 770 6220

Just a thought - maybe we could start an insurance thread - It would need keen moderating as not to go off topic too much.

Got a good deal from Graham Sykes 08704446330 found them in Used Car Buyer. They have no problems with modified cars. Quite a few forms to fill in but at least then both sides have proof of who said what. LV weren't able to continue with my insurance cause of mods. They range from PPP to prodrive battery tie down. Scary stuff!

I got my renewal from LV on Dec 24th and Mods include PPP, Exhaust, Springs & Engine mods (DV and Air Filter)

Interestingly mods are listed on the Schedule as :- Engine, Exhaust and Suspension......

It's weird mate I spoke to 2 different people at LV. 1 said I wasn't insured coz I'd had the PPP done the other said it was OK.Was told that they will only take mods as follows, wheels, tinted windows, disabled driver aids (think Ive got that right).A lot of these insurance companies don't seem to train their staff the same way.

I'm insured with import deptment at AXA.

As it happens just this afternoon i phoned through some additional mods. No problem at all. This included the tinted windows that some say they are having trouble with. No matter how insignificant my mods may seem there all listed. All 12 of them.

Just declared my mods to Directline STi 8 spoiler and sports exhaust. Cost me an extra 43, taking my insurence upto 600.

Dont know weather I am happy or upset yet after scoobynut's post :?:
