rb5 ecu

can i put a rb5 ecu in my 99 turbo 2000 its a straight swap over as its a 99 rb5 what if any dangers are they i know the rb5 had higher bhp and boosted at 16 while the 2000 boosted at 14

the ecu from a RB5 is going to be for a sti id say so the turbo/injectors alone will be wrong,
Someone with a better knowledge may correct me here.

rb5 is just a standard uk turbo with body mods, only thing to be carefull of is some had a ppp on them some didnt

As tidgy says the ecus for both cars are no difference as both cars produce 215 bhp,so no gain to be had.If it has the ppp then you can still fit it with no problems at all,you should see an increase in bhp and hit slightly higher boost levels.If you have a decent exhaust and panel filter expect to see bhp go up to 240 ish,and the car to be a more driveable ,but only 3 mph more on your top speed.

hehe, alot of the uk specials had a mix of ppp and no ppp, so you can never realy tell

you would also have to get your keys coded as well. as the ecu holds the key codes for the transponder
