1. Full exhaust decat - or a sports cat
2. Panel filter (depending on year)
3. Clutch upgrade (AP organic?)
4. Tubular headers
5. ECU remap/replacement (depending on year).

3 and 4 are more an optional, but 5 will get you the most performance gains in conjunction with the other modifications.

(Just a quick plug for Scooby Magazine - read about Project WRX Powerpack )

Things like oils and spark plugs will only cost you power if they are faulty or not the correct ones. So I don't see them as VFM performance upgrades - just part of routine maintenance.

3/4/5 Won't work optimally without ECU replacement/remap.

1/2 - I got blinkered when performance was mentioned. I thought we were talking power increases ops: totally agree brakes and handling should be in the top mods though.

Ummmm... :?

For power...

1. 2.5 Conversion (with uprated internals)
2. Engine Upgrade (550cc Injectors, Bigger Fuel Pump and Oil Cooler)
3. Large TMIC or FMIC
4. Bigger Turbo
5. New ECU or Remap

Worry about clutch, exhaust, brakes, gearbox and insurance another day!!!

For handling...

1. Big Front Brake Kit (Inc. Braided Hoses All Round / Min Dot 4 Brake Fluid)
2. Uprated Discs / Pads on the Rear.
3. Fully Adjustable Suspension
4. Anti Lift Kit or Anti Roll Bar
5. Geometry Setup

Should sort the handling!!! 8)
