Re: injectors

Hi Matt, as i understand it........

440cc injectors are safe for around 330bhp - maybe a little more.

In basic terms, larger injectors give more flow = larger amount of fuel can be injected in to cylinder to equal/match (in ratios) a larger amount of air blown in from the turbo - which equals bigger combustion, which equals more power.
However, injectors that are too large a 'cc' for their required application can lead to runnig problems i.e idling.
Someone else may be able to explain the 'duty cycle' of injectors and how that works/relates to the above, but i can't... lol

Injectors of course would need mapping, and would only be necessary with other uprated parts.

This video explains all you need to know about the fuel injection system and associated parts...............

what year and model car have you got?? your current injectors will be fine with your current mods. you may need to change injectors if going for a larger turbo

Re: injectors

to answer your question a bit more, you only change injectors out of necessity in a link in the chain when changing/upgrading other things. you do not and should not change them on their own as a way of trying to gain more power. - hope that makes sense.

Andrew

Re: injectors

They wont give more on their own, but if your std injectors are at their limit when mapped - the bigger injectors will allow the mapper to set it up for those and get more from the car.

All injector changes need mapping.

Not what i've been told fella, cos i was expecting the same as you said, but should be good for about 360-370 ish on the right turbo so i've been informed by the guy who gonna be mapping it this week, sure you can guess from who does my work who it is that told me that lol

Re: injectors

My point was that fitting bigger injectors wont give you extra power unless your car is running dangerously lean without.

Take a std car and fit 550 injectors to it - no more power in fact will run like a bag of shite til mapped but even then it wont make extra power over the smaller injectors unless the smaller injectors were going to be holding it back.
