The Truth About Exedy Clutch Capacities

This information is taken straight from Exedy UK. The table shown is for a 6 speed Evo (VI-IX), but will be the same torque ratings on the clutches as a 6 speed Impreza clutch kits and friction plates. They state better torque capacities than are often 'sold' to us, especially for road and track use..... http://www.exedy.co.uk/techinfo/EvoSpecs.pdf

i can believe that! i have a exedy stage 2 Paddle kit here on standby, but am having second thoughts about fitting it. Just the idea of trying to parrallel park has put off .
gear box will probably handle the clutch hard bite but it will probably chew up the fly wheel. the idea was to fit it in preparation to future power possibilities. But that looks like a distant dream at the minute. My standard clutch has done 60k but is holding 385lbft of torque ok at the moment. and from the exedy chart above, 415lbft on the organic friction plate and uprated cover would be fine - if not launching the car.

Re: The Truth About Exedy Clutch Capacities

got an exedy organic in mine at present, works fine on road.

but after a season of drag racing it slipped big time off the line, didnt even get drive in 2nd. The again I am running launch control and 888's. (still managed to be faster than the quikest front whell drive car lol).

Re: The Truth About Exedy Clutch Capacities

i may just get hold of an organic friction plate. My car is not launched like yours so if an organic is good enough for you, then i'm sure its more than enough for me.
Don't suppose you fancy a paddle clutch?? lol

Re: The Truth About Exedy Clutch Capacities

the whole kit no. is FK03 T601

the paddle friction plate no. is FD12T

lookup the rating on the exedy link above. ... 480lbft for road race and 385lbft for drag and launch

and yes it will work with OEM flywheel. it's the 240mm clutch for 6 speed imprezas

Those numbers relate to an organic plate.
