Yeah......have it on mine, theres no set patern to it...sometimes it does it when cold sometimes when hot and then it wont do it for ages.
local dealer said they would change it for modded parts but they wouldnt guarantee it would sort it out.

say no more!!!!

I'd make sure the dealer changed the flywheel, as it is the flywheel that is warped. So unless they have changed it,the problem will re occur. Not only that, but they could of damaged it when refitting the gearbox, so best get it back to the dealer whilst you still have the genuine warranty left, as the subaru extended warranty will NOT cover clutch judder, they "consider it" wear and tear!

Re: 02 sti clutch judder

I had very bad clutch judder when I first bought my scooby. I took it in under warrenty and they said they would replace it, but it would probably make it worse
I read a bit more on forums like this and someone said give it the full foot 2 the floor treatment few times. That helped . I found just slipping the clutch till I could smell burning clutch in my car did the trick.
The prevoius owner only did Sunday driving
Not had any Judder since I had judder bad last winter

Hope this helps
Cheers Kev.

Had a new clutch and flywheel under warranty last Feb. (MY02 STI)

Then last year I started getting a rattle from the gearbox (different story!) anyhow, cluctch judder was starting to come back.

Had a new clutch release bearing fitted to cure gearbox problem (It didn't cure it) but it did cure the clutch judder that was coming back...

Oh, am now having a brand new gearbox fitted under warranty

Common problem on the '02s. Had mine swapped under warranty at 9K miles. They installed '03 clutch and flywheel. Judder was back within 5,000 miles. I've just learned to live with it...
