Rotten egg odor

I have a 2004 Impreza TS2.5 sedan with 10000 km
On short trips in the city it produces a rotten egg odor from the exhaust system (catalytic converter). It has done this ever since it was new.
the local dealer changed one of the oxygen sensors and it seemed to help for 2 weeks
now it is doing it again on a daily basis.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
thank you

Had this very problem on a Cavalier I had many moons ago - it was the Catalytic Convertor.

What you need is some Cat Cleaner You pour it into your fuel tank and it actually cleans the cat for you. The smell you are getting is residue build up as you say not a nice smell at all

"Forte" also do a good "Gas Treatment", which you simply add to the fuel tank, but be assured, you will never really eleminate the smell totally, its a fact of nature due to the design and construction of the catalytic converter,........... "Sorry" !
