Don't know what my MPG is but when I'm driving to and from work on similar roads to you I get around 310 miles to a tank.

When you say 'empty country roads' and '2004 blob eye' in the same sentence you won't be bothered about MPG. I'm still smiling after 15 months of ownership. Get it bought.!!!!

Re: new here need some advice on wrx

I have a 06 WRX and it costs me 55 - 60 to fill it up, I get between 200-220 miles, these are town miles if I have a long country road run, it'll go up to about 230/240 dependant, but I also use this car daily, have 2 kids, got big boot for buggy and shopping!!!

Best (and fastest) family car I've owned!!!

Get it spent!!!

2 years later I still have the grin factor!!!!

Only issue I had was a bugger to get a babyseat that's rear facing on the back seats, seatbelts wasn't long enough!, but I worked round it!!!!

Re: new here need some advice on wrx

Is it a sportwagon or saloon? Wagon will get you a FEW more MPG, however you will probably be averaging about 24-28 (because who drives an Impreza frugally!)
Will be the BEST car you own.
And dont be put off by the estates, ive had both and they both match each other in the grin factor! (and you dont feel as "boy-racer"ish in the estate!)
That last statement wasnt meant too offend, people.

Ya but better to do the checks than buying a lemon fella know so many people that get caught by buying a rubbish car weather it being written off and so on let the sales rep wait! you paying the money at the end of the day and you have to fork out for the car if it falls apart

Re: new here need some advice on wrx

before you buy mate get the car HPI checked I looked at a wrx at a large garage in Dorset they claimed it was hpi clear with certificate before I left to buy it I thought I would check my self.
The feckin car was still on credit I rang the credit company and they where excellent and told me it was still of interest to them and they were going to persue the guy who took out the credit

Big lesson learnt for me I won't trust to adverts again even from large respected garages
