Re: does anybody know?????????????

The STi intercoolers are bigger and a larger surface area means more efficient cooling. I have also noticed tuners seem to often recommend an STi TMIC over the standard when tuning.

As for wheels the stud pattern is same size so will fit but not sure about 18's under classic arches. Know people do run 18's on classics though.

Re: does anybody know?????????????

18s will probably rub at the rear, i had them on my old 98 Impreza and every time i either
a- went over a speed bump or, more embarrasingly for them, b- had a "weighty" passenger in the rear(of my car!) they rubbed like you wouldnt believe!

Re: does anybody know?????????????

I would recommend 17's on a classic for handling and to prevent rubbing.

Re: does anybody know?????????????

If you run 215`s you can run 18s, but id stick with 17s, I couldnt because of the brembos,

If you run 17s you get a little more tyre wall which helps absorb the little bumps and stop the suspension loading up and it becoming too rough a ride, on 18s you have less tyre to take up the little bumps and you tend to get a rough ride from the suspension as it cant take the little bumps but that energy has to go somewhere so it ends up bumping and bouncing you around on pot holes.(a very basic description I know)

Re: does anybody know?????????????

i switched to 18's recently and tbh there doesn;t seem to be much in it. also didn;t get any issues with rubbing, but as sugested will depend on the fitment and offset of the wheels.

as far as intercooler goes, depends how far your planing to push it power wise. on the standard TD04 then a top mount will be fine, once you change the turbo though front mount is by far your best option.
