it is the feed that the airbox suck the fresh air through withou it your sucking in air from around the engine bay
anyway i upgraded to hks induction kit mushroom but left it in place the induction also sucks air through the bonnet and wing

Re: airbox

innerwing cold air feed is important when using the airbox,as it's the only source of air intake,or you could use an induction scoop... same as here.. :-http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=40_65&products_id=1106

if your fitting an induction kit,DONT take the cover off the original vent,as when it rains the filter will get soaked and can also cause MAF problems, the above mentioned item will seriously limit the risk of that happening

Re: airbox

i had a induction kit but it messed the maf up and a bonnet scoop. ive now taken the bonnet scoop off as i didnt like it and put the stanard airbox back on. i would prefer to keep the airbox on really. so i need the rest of the cold air feed then? is there not any other way to get a cold air feed?
